Dr. Serra Renom has written six books about Plastic Surgery specialty being pioneer in our country.

“ENDOSCOPY IN COSMETIC SURGERY” (Ed Masson, 1995)

This book talks about the application of endocopy in Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery becoming a pioneer around the world.

Endoscopy is a surgical procedure that with the help of optical instruments and fibre optics, provides proper vision to perform surgery through minimal skin incisions avoiding open surgery with bigger scars.

This field has been developed by the author and has many applications in upper face rejuvenation: wrinkles between the eyebrows, eyebrow ptosis, forehead wrinkles; where no excess skin is found and high foreheads must be avoided without a scar from ear to ear, instead the procedure is performed through 2 minimal incisions of 1 cm in length and placed within the hair accomplishing rejuvenation of this area.
The authors also describes in his book the application in Cosmetic Surgery during prosthesis placement through axillary approach and pocket undermining to place calf or gluteal prosthesis.

Furthermore, other instruments developed by the author are presented like a retractor for endoscopic surgery produced by Snowden Pencer in USA.

“LIPOSUCTION IN AESTHETIC AND PLASTIC SURGERY” (Ed Salvat,1987)

For the first time all over the world, the necessity to perform superficial liposuction and crossing the tunnels for better remodelling of a given area is presented in this book. A protocol of all areas to be treated is presented herein beginning in the face: the cheeks associated or not to facelifts, submandibular area; the breast including the gland and its tail next to the armpit to help defining the fold after breast reduction; the abdomen needs very superficial liposuction improving very much the shape; the flanks where men tend to accumulate fat; the waist; internal aspect of the thigh; the hip where liposuction works greatly; the internal aspect of the knee; and the ankle where surgery may be conservative.

Utilization of liposuction in Reconstructive Surgery to treat lipomas and lipomatosis is presented in the book as well.

“MICROSURGERY IN RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY” (Ed Salvat, 1985)
